(Dawsonville, GA) Today, Republican State Representative and successful community banker Will Wade announced his campaign for the State Senate District 51 seat being vacated by Majority Leader Steve Gooch.

Wade, a Floor Leader for Governor Kemp, is known for sponsoring many of the administration’s most conservative bills related to children and minors, including legislation that banned biological men from girls’ sports, removed critical race theory from classrooms, and prevented doctors from performing sex changes on minors.

“I’m proud to have fought alongside Governor Kemp to take on the radical Left and protect our kids. As the father of two school-aged children and a former school board member, these issues are personal to me. As long as I have a voice in Atlanta, I will continue to block any attempts to harm our children,” said Wade.

Since taking office in 2021, Rep. Wade has consistently been one of the state’s most conservative legislators. In addition to his work advocating for children, Wade has also supported efforts that returned over $6 billion to taxpayers, cracked down on illegal immigration, and restored religious freedom protections.

Wade continued, “As a lifelong North Georgian, I am committed to defending our way of life and conservative North Georgia values. Now, I’m ready to take that fight to the State Senate and continue my work to protect our kids, return tax dollars to taxpayers, and keep Georgia the #1 state for small business.”

State Senate District 51 covers Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Pickens, Union, and White Counties. The Republican Primary will be held in May of 2026. For more information, visit www.votewillwade.com.

Neighbors, When you head back to the polls on June 16th, the choice in the District 51 State Senate runoff couldn't be clearer. This election is about trust. I was born and raised here. I built my career here, raised my family here, served here, worshipped here, and never left. My opponent left for Atlanta to work as a trial lawyer and only recently moved back when he decided a Senate seat sounded like a good retirement plan. While Philip Milam was filing the kind of frivolous lawsuits that drive up insurance costs for working families, I was here working delivering results for you. I passed Constitutional Carry. I banned men from women's sports. I helped pass the strongest election integrity law in the country. I removed radical ideologies from our classrooms and expanded school choice. I delivered property tax relief — locally and statewide — and helped return billions of your tax dollars back to you through rebates and tax cuts. And I helped pass lawsuit reform to stop trial lawyers like Mr. Milam from squeezing Georgia families. Now Mr. Milam is hiding where his campaign money comes from in apparent violation of the law while liberal trial lawyers pour tens of thousands of dollars into smearing me. The difference is simple: I've been here. Working, serving, and worshipping right alongside you for decades. Mr. Milam just showed back up when he wanted something. Neighbors, on June 16th you have a clear choice: a proven conservative who has been here, delivered results, and earned your trust — or an Atlanta trial lawyer who is failing to follow the law and being funded by Atlanta trial lawyers. I humbly ask for your vote. Will Wade Candidate, Georgia State Senate, District 51
